Our Story

It started with a community need

Hawk grew from a collaboration between Naut’sa mawt Tribal Council and a technology team with a shared goal: to create a better way for Indigenous communities to communicate with their members.

What began as a practical solution has grown into a platform used by First Nations and Indigenous organizations across Canada.

Built with Indigenous communities.

Hawk was shaped by the experience and needs of Indigenous communities from the beginning.

Naut’sa mawt Tribal Council continues to be an important collaborator as Hawk evolves, helping keep the platform grounded in the realities and priorities of Indigenous communities.

That relationship is part of what makes Hawk different.

From communication to community safety

Hawk began with everyday community communication—sharing news, events, resources, and important information.

As communities' needs have evolved, so has Hawk.

Today, the platform supports emergency communications and is exploring new ways technology can contribute to community safety and missing-person response.

Communicate. Respond. Protect.

A growing Indigenous network

Today, 140+ First Nations and Indigenous organizations across eight provinces and two territories use Hawk. Each community brings different experiences and needs. Together, they're helping shape what Hawk becomes next.

What's next?

We're continuing to listen, learn, and build alongside Indigenous communities.
Because as long as there are new ideas, Hawk will continue to grow.
